History of Portland ABFM

In 1976, Jim Singmaster of Vancouver, WA organized a car show, a gathering called a "meet", held in Blue Lake Park. This event was a social gathering held in conjunction with a Jaguar Concours d'Elegance. The Meet is now organized and sponsored by seven British car clubs.

The Jaguar Owners Club of Oregon, the original organizer, continues to participate equally with the other clubs and could well argue that "their" ABFM is not only the first but the best as well. It is a full weekend event that often draws as many as 800 cars and has grown to become the largest all British car show in the United States.
